Becky's House 2007 Fundraiser

 2nd Annual Becky’s House Benefit 

Top local female singer-songwriters will perform in a musical showcase to benefit Becky’s House, December 2nd, from 6-9 p.m., at the San Diego Wine and Culinary Center at 200 Harbor Drive, Suite 120, in downtown San Diego across from the Convention Center. All donations will be given in full to Becky’s House, a local non-profit charity organization that provides services for women and children who are victims of domestic violence.

The event brings together local singer-songwriters, including
Lisa Sanders, Steph Johnson, Evan Bethany, Joannie Mendenhall, Anna Troy, Julia Garlington (from Married by Elvis and Sara Petite, the event organizer who lost a longtime friend to domestic violence. Other performing artists include Cathryn Beeks, Nan and Michael, Virginia and Lou Curtis, Regina Dawn, Julie Mack, Molly Meekin, the Flimz and Chelsea Flor. Becky’s House is an 18-month transitional residential program for survivors of domestic violence and their children. Ninety percent of the residents complete the program and secure employment and permanent housing. Built in collaboration with the City of San Diego, architect Tim Golba, and STAR Radio, the residential program provides:

• Case management
• Legal assistance
• Counseling, GED and continuing education assistance
• Job skill assessment and career counseling
• Art therapy, educational and play activities for children
